A.H. Beck was contracted to remove existing ground improvement elements to convert a waterfront marine fabrication facility to a deep-water open access marine terminal in Ingleside, Texas.

Overview:

The South Texas Gateway (STG) Terminal project converted a 212-acre waterfront marine fabrication facility at the mouth of Corpus Christi Bay into a new deep-water, open access marine terminal in Ingleside, Texas A.H. Beck was contracted to removed all the existing ground improvement elements supporting a ringer crane and a secant pile curtain wall in the bottom of the 700’ x 250’ graving dock that were a part of the old marine fabrication facility.  All found elements above elevation -65.0 had to be removed to facilitate the construction of the new STG Terminal  A total of 398 soil cement columns were removed from the ringer crane foundation that were approximately 45 feet deep and a 270’ secant pile consisting of 104 piles was demoed down to elevation -65.0.
