AH Beck delivered several foundation solutions to help PCL Industrial Contractors install a refinery upgrade that will assure that this refinery meets the Environmental Protection Agency’s Tier 3 clean fuel standards legislation. To support the structures required in the Tier 3 upgrade, A.H. Beck delivered 214 Helical piles, low-overhead and limited access augercast piles 24” diameter up to 60’ deep, extensive pressure-grouted soil improvements in different areas of the site, and the installation and excavation of a 28’ x 32’ x 16’deep sheet piling structure. The refinery upgrades are scheduled to come online in early 2017, in-time for the EPA’s enforcement date for the new legislation.
