Overview:

A total of 1,317 Drilled shaft piers were delivered by AH Beck, contracted under Zachry Industrial for the Exelon Power Generation facility in Granbury, Texas.  The 24”, 30”, and 48” diameter piers socketed into Glen Rose Limestone to provide the structural foundation support for the new facilityPrior to production shaft installation, a series of load tests consisting of compression and lateral tests were performed on 24” and 30” diameter shafts socketed into the limestone by Beck and their staff engineers.  The favorable results of the load tests provided the engineering team the ability to redesign a large percentage of the 30″ diameter shafts down to 24” resulting in a large savings to the owner.
