A.H. Beck installs 3500+ augercast piles for Bayport Polymers new High-Density Polyethylene plant in Bayport, Texas.
On this project, A H Beck was contracted by McDermott to install (2500) 18” x 45 to 75-foot auger cast piles, (1060) 24” x 45 to 75-foot auger cast piles, (502) 18” x 75-foot ground improvement elements, and 750LF of sheet piles for Bayport Polymers new High-Density Polyethylene plant in Bayport, Texas. AHB used (3) crane rig setups to install all the foundations. Of the 3500+ auger cast piles installed, 2% of them were required to be either tested by Thermal Integrity Profile (TIP) or Pile Integrity Test (PIT). As with all “plant” work, the primary challenge of this project was working near existing plant structures and coordinating the sequence of the work to stay as productive and efficient as possible.
