A.H. Beck completes the extensive test pile program for the Borstar Expansion Project in Seabrook, Texas.
Overview:
A.H. Beck, working as a subcontractor to McDermott, completed the extensive test pile program for the Borstar Expansion Project. The deep foundation elements consisted of 18-inch and 24-inch diameter by 50 and 80 foot deep Auger Cast Piles. The piles were instrumented with TIP wires, tested with PIT nondestructive testing and load tested in compression, tension and lateral to verify and optimize the pile foundation design. AHB is currently utilizing 3 EA crane rig setups to install the production pile work consisting of over 3800 piles.
